
MAD DOG PRESENTS
Mad Dog's producers were the founders of, and part of the production team that created the All Points West Music and Arts Festival in Liberty State Park in 2008 and 2009. In 2008, Radiohead and Jack Johnson headlined All Points West. Over Forty-five bands performed on three stages over the three-day festival in Liberty State Park’s “Green Ring” with The Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline as its
backdrop. In 2009, APW featured Coldplay, Jay-Z, Tool, and 60 other artists.

Also in 2008 Mad dog launched the Governors Island Concert Series featuring Jam-band artists moe., Dark Star Orchestra, and The Saw Doctors.

In 2009, Mad Dog created The Beach @Governors Island. In it’s inaugural year, The Beach @Governors Island attracted numerous performers including the iconic popstars, the B-52’s. New York Post’s Music Critic, Dan Aquilante, wrote “the New Wave dance aces showed why the Beach at Governors Island is the best place to see out-of-doors Rock n Roll.” The Beach was on the map.

The Beach @Governors Island featured R&B diva, Erykah Badu, popular hip-hop acts like NERD, Lupe Fiasco, and Mos Def, “This is 50 Festival” featuring 50-cent, and Dutch Mega-DJ Armin Van Burren.
In 2010, Mad Dog’s string of musical successes on Governors Island grew to include 19 Concerts, 7 DJ events. Mad Dog also produced three larger events on two of Governors Island picturesque field locals outside the Beach venue. The first, Passion Pit, indie rocks latest phenoms brought 7500 music lovers the college-quad-like Colonels Row. The second, Hard NYC, featuring MIA attracted 10,000 fans, and finally Rock the Bells (co-produced with Guerilla Union) triumphed to over 18,000 people. All told, Mad Dog produced 92 different acts, in three distinct venues on Governors Island.

The New York Times headline called Rock the Bells “Hip-hop History, by Those Who Made It”.
The Mini-festival featured hip-hop superstars Snoop Dog, Lauryn Hill, Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan, KRS-1, Rakim, Slick Rick and many other urban music pioneers. This singular Hip-hop event introduced Governors Island to 18,000 Hip-hop fans who might otherwise have never ventured onto a boat and over to this hidden gem in New York City. Part way through Lauryn Hill’s set she pulled guests out of the V.I.P. section and onstage including Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, & John Legend.

In 2011 Mad Dog went on to produce four of the of North East’s major music festivals. Bowery Presents and Starr Hill Productions and Mad Dog brought the Dave Matthews Caravan to Governors Island. Mad Dog also produced The Governors Ball, featuring Girl Talk and Pretty Lights, Bass Island, featuring Bassnectar and, once again, Rock the Bells returned for a second triumphant year.
